The Magical Spirit of Justin Bodhi
Where do we go after we die?
Where did we come from before we were born?
Do our past lives influence us?
Who are we?
Tragical tells the story of Justin Bodhi, a young American boy—a Buddha boy—born with extraordinary wisdom and a quiet magic. In December 2023, at just fifteen years old, his life ended suddenly due to an asymptomatic aneurysm. But did Justin Bodhi truly leave?
In the days following his death, signs began to appear. Messages. Synchronicities. A whisper beyond the veil. What if death is not the end?
Though born in the United States in 2008, Justin Bodhi carried the presence of an ancient soul—one that carried the memories and wisdom of sacred lands in the Far East. What if birth is not the beginning? Justin Bodhi invites us to explore the possibility that consciousness is infinite—that life does not begin at birth, nor end at death. His Spirit leads us to Bhutan—the happiest country in the world—where death is not seen as an ending, but as a sacred passage into the infinite. Through this journey, Justin Bodhi invites us to remember who we truly are.
Justin Bodhi was a devoted son, a second-degree black belt and state Taekwondo champion, an Eagle Scout candidate, a wilderness skills teen leader, a homeschooler, and an artist. He lived with mindfulness, courage, and compassion—leaving lessons for us all.
The Tragical documentary began in October 2023, weeks before his passing, when Justin met filmmaker Joe Plante in Greece—a meeting that would become destiny. The film weaves together Justin’s remarkable life, the profound impact he made, the messages that followed, and the journey of his ashes to his soul’s home in Bhutan.
In October 2026, Melanie Ryan, Justin’s father Andy Steigmeier, and filmmaker Joe Plante will travel to Bhutan to complete the documentary. Filming will capture rarely visited Himalayan temples, sacred ceremonies with Buddhist masters, lamas, and yogis, and moments of living tradition—from archery to wilderness skills. These teachings reveal that death is not to be feared, but honored—and that understanding impermanence allows us to live more fully, love more deeply, and remember who we truly are.
TRAGICAL is a journey from tragic to magic. It is not a story about the tragedy of death. It is a story about a magical awakening. As Justin Bodhi’s ashes travel to his soul’s home, bringing us to sacred temples, ancient teachings, and the wisdom of impermanence, a deeper truth emerges:
We are not merely bodies.
We are not limited to one lifetime.
We are infinite consciousness… a soul remembering itself.
Dedicated to the benefit of all beings.
